The History of Glancy’s Popcorn

popcorn+3.jpg

It all started when…

My grandfather, Fred F. Glancy, started developing corn hybrids with the Agricultural Experimental Station of Harvard University in 1930. He first worked on popping hybrids in 1932 on sweet corn hybrids for canning companies. Then in 1934 he worked on hybrid seed corn and the development of Indiana imbreds. In the early 1940’s on his Hartford City, Indiana farm, he founded Glancy’s Popcorn and became a commercial processor and packer of his hybrid popcorn. He was well known for his Glancy’s Pop Karmel Krisp recipe, I hope you enjoy every bit of your Glancy’s Popcorn.

Best regards, his grandson,

Perry Glancy
